WOCCU Statistical Report 2025: The Global Network of Credit Unions and Financial Cooperatives

The World Council of Credit Unions' annual statistical report gives the best available global picture of credit unions and financial cooperatives. The 2025 edition counts about 420 million members in 61,838 credit unions across 93 countries, holding nearly US$4 trillion in assets. It reports savings, loans and capital, broken down by region. It also reflects a reworked method that draws on regulators, central banks and national associations. Ugandan SACCOs can use it to see where Africa's credit union movement stands globally.
